UCF fans probably don’t care too much for SEC teams, but they may hold a special place in their hearts for Mississippi State after Saturday.

During the Auburn-Mississippi State basketball game, Bulldogs fans brought out the UCF chant while the Tigers were shooting free throws (video below).

Auburn ended up defeating MSU 76-68, as Bruce Pearl has a very good team this year. Despite being down 11 at halftime, Auburn came roaring back to score 52 points in the second half and ended up winning 76-68. The Tigers are ranked No. 22 in the country and are currently 16-1 overall and 4-0 in SEC play.

The gridiron Tigers, however, didn’t have the finish they wanted in the Peach Bowl. UCF defeated Auburn 34-27 and went on to claim its undefeated “National Championship” season, complete with a parade and “We Want Bama” chants. Fans also put up a billboard in Tuscaloosa.

Interestingly, Joyce Julius and Associates estimated that UCF’s campaign netted the school $17.5 million in exposure value. Further, it would be interesting to know how that estimation was made.

Managing editor for the Daily Beacon Rob Harvey tweeted about the chant Saturday, and UCF fan Andy Thomas caught the chant on video (below).
