There’s a laundry list of areas for Auburn to fix as it prepares to play at Ole Miss this week, and coach Gus Malzahn admits he’ll address every one of them.

For starters, he plans to examine quarterback, running backs, coaching staff and the offensive line. After the loss to Tennessee, he didn’t reveal any particular direction he was leaning, but it was clear to those who have watched the Tigers in recent weeks that changes are necessary.

“Right now, my feelings are I’m disappointed for our team,” Malzahn said Saturday afternoon, according to AL.com. “I’m not ready to sit here and make any kind of talk about staff or players other than I’m disappointed. We’re going to watch the film, and we’re going to get this thing corrected. That’s my responsibility as a head coach. Whatever it takes to get us corrected and finish this thing the right way, I’m going to do.”

Unbelievably, Auburn is third from the bottom of the SEC in rushing offense with just 158 yards per game on average. Leading rusher JaTarvious Whitlow is just 11th in the SEC in rushing with 456 yards and four TDs. QB Jarrett Stidham is seventh in the league in passing.

Malzahn added that he would look at everything from all positions and that making three turnovers at home is not good. Though after the game, he said Stidham still gave Auburn the best chance to win, and there was no consideration of an in-game change at quarterback.

“I’m going to watch the film; we’ll have a plan moving forward, whatever that is, to get better,” Malzahn said. “Bottom line is we’ve got to get better and we’ve got to get better as a team. I’m very disappointed with our performance. I thought we would play better. We had a very solid week of practice. I’m disappointed for our players, I’m disappointed for our fans, not happy.”
