What Gus Malzahn said after Auburn's loss at Mississippi State
Gus Malzahn lamented the same issues that have plagued Auburn’s offense all season. Namely, not getting into a rhythm and making too many mistakes.
The Tigers fell at Mississippi State, 23-9, in a game where they mustered just 90 rushing yards, and were 3-for-14 on third down. They also lost the time of possession battle 41:53 to 18:07.
The Auburn defense yielded 195 rushing yards and two touchdowns to Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald. The Tigers fell to 4-2 and 1-2 in the SEC.
Auburn will return to action next week when it plays host to Tennessee.
Malzahn: "Any time you go on the road in this league and play on the road, you can't do what we did."
He points to how his team still had a chance at the end, but "didn't seize the moment".

For context: What he is implying here is that he is not blaming two close calls at the goal line for the loss.

Malzahn on Deshaun Davis' injury: "He had a leg injury that was pretty scary. He's a tough guy and he game back in." Davis is getting checked out now.

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn: "We made too many mistakes to win a game like. We got to man up. Our backs are against the wall."
