If you thought ESPN’s coverage of the 2020 NFL Draft focused way too much on negatives and tragedies experienced by the players picked, you weren’t alone.

Plenty of people ripped ESPN, Trey Wingo and others for consistently bringing up the worst moments in players’ lives.

One of the most egregious examples came in Round 2, when Clemson WR Tee Higgins was picked by the Cincinnati Bengals. The graphic ESPN showed mentioned Higgins’ mother’s fight with drug addiction.

However, Higgins showed his true class by saying he’s fine with ESPN mentioning his mom’s battle. As you can see below, he took to Twitter to say he’s proud of his mom for turning her life around:

Kudos to Higgins for taking this in stride. Friday was a special moment for him and his entire family.

Now, we’ll see how he fares in the NFL with Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
