Alpha Brummage spent eight seasons as a college football coach in the early 1900’s, including two seasons as head coach at the University of Kentucky from 1913-1914. His teams finished 6-2 in 1913 and 5-3 in 1914. Brummage also coached UK’s basketball team from 1913-1915. He passed away in 1963 at the age of 82.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
