Andrew Gill was an Indiana University graduate who coached the Kentucky Wildcats’ football and basketball teams in 1918 and 1919. He led the Cats’ football team to a 2-1 record in 1918 before the remainder of the season was canceled due to the 1918 flu pandemic. His 1919 squad finished 3-4-1, bringing his combined record at UK to 5-5-1. Gill passed away in 1947 at the age of 60.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
