C.D. Bliss, also known as “Pop,” coached Missouri football to a 7-1 record and a share of the Western Interstate University Football Association title in 1895. He also coached Stanford to an unbeaten season in 1893. As a player, he shared a backfield with his brother, Laurie Bliss, and helped lead Yale to back-to-back national championships in 1891 and 1892.
An itinerant journalist, Christopher has moved between states 11 times in seven years. Formally an injury-prone Division I 800-meter specialist, he now wanders the Rockies in search of high peaks.
