C.D. Bliss, also known as “Pop,” coached Missouri football to a 7-1 record and a share of the Western Interstate University Football Association title in 1895. He also coached Stanford to an unbeaten season in 1893. As a player, he shared a backfield with his brother, Laurie Bliss, and helped lead Yale to back-to-back national championships in 1891 and 1892.
