Before playing professional football and assuming an ownership role with the NFL’s Brooklyn Dodgers, Chris Cagle served one year as the head football coach at Mississippi State. He led the Bulldogs to a 2-7 record that season. Cagle passed away in 1942 at the age of 37.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
