Dana X. Bible

Dana X. Bible was a college football coach for 33 seasons at five different schools, including one season as head coach at LSU and 11 more at Texas A&M. Bible arrived at LSU from Mississippi College in the middle of the 1916 season and went 1-0-2 in three games before moving on to Texas A&M. He coached at A&M in 1917, leading the Aggies to a perfect 8-0 season a Southwest Conference title. After a year away from College Station he returned to A&M for 10 more seasons beginning in 1919, never recording a losing season. He was 72-19-9 overall as coach of the Aggies, winning the national championship in 1919 and 1927 and the Southwest Conference crown in 1921 and 1925. Bible was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1951 with 198 career wins as a head coach. He passed away in 1980 at the age of 88.
