Dave Ungerer spent 2003-06 as the special teams coordinator and tight ends coach at the University of Alabama, where he coached standout punt returners in Javier Arenas and Tyrone Prothro.
Ungerer also has spent time as an assistant for Rutgers, Northeastern, Davison, Holy Cross, Marylad, Lehigh, California, Oregon State, Elon, Washington State and Utah State.
An itinerant journalist, Christopher has moved between states 11 times in seven years. Formally an injury-prone Division I 800-meter specialist, he now wanders the Rockies in search of high peaks.
