One of Derek Mason’s defense buddies during two seasons at Stanford, Kotulski was invited to lead the Commodores’ defense in 2014 when Mason took over as head coach. At Stanford, Kotulski directed one of the nation’s top linebacker units and helped a defense rank amongst the nation’s best in sacks, scoring and total defense back-to-back seasons.
Prior to Stanford, Kotulski spent six years at Lehigh where he led drastic improvement on the defensive side of the football. Kotulski has now held the title of defensive coordinator at seven different programs since his coaching career began at Utah in 1978 as the Utes’ defensive line guru.
