Francis Schmidt

Francis Schmidt coached college football, basketball and baseball for nearly three decades, including stints coaching all three sports between 1922 and 1929. He coached the Arkansas football team from 1922-1928 and went 41-21-3 in that time. His record against Southwest Conference opponents was just 8-12-2. His teams never finished ranked in the Associated Press poll, won a conference title or reached a bowl game. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1971. Schmidt passed away in 1944 at the age of 58.
