Fred Holtkamp spent his entire coaching career at Mississippi A&M (a.k.a. Mississippi State), leading the Bulldogs to a 5-3 record in 1920 and a 4-4-1 record in 1921. His teams were a combined 6-5-1 against conference opponents under Holtkamp’s leadership. Holtkamp played his college football at the Ohio State University prior to taking the coaching job in Starkville.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
