Fred J. Murphy

Fred J. Murphy was a college football coach at three different programs in the early 1900’s, including three seasons as the head coach at the University of Kentucky from 1924-1926. He posted just one winning seasons with the Wildcats, recording a 6-3 record in 1925. He left Kentucky following the 1926 season with a combined record of 12-14-1 as coach of the Cats. Murphy also served as UK’s basketball coach for two seasons from 1925-1926. He passed away in 1956 at the age of 70.
