Fred Schacht coached the University of Kentucky football team for two seasons from 1904-1905, winning or tying 16 of the 20 games he coached during that time. He passed away one year later, in 1906, at the age of 31.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
