Mehre became the head coach at Georgia in 1928 after serving as an assistant for four seasons.
He went 59-34-6 over ten years with the Bulldogs. He was also Georgia’s athletic director.
Upon leaving Georgia, Mehre was hired at Ole Miss. He coached the Rebels from 1938-1945 and compiled a 39-26-1 record in Oxford.
After living in Birmingham, Ala., Jordan left the ground zero of SEC Nation to head south to Florida to tell the unique stories of the renowned tradition of SEC football. In his free time, his mission is to find the best locales around.
