Jack Meagher coached the Auburn Tigers football team for nine seasons from 1934-1942. His teams posted a combined record of 48-37-10, reaching two bowl games in 1936 and 1937. His 1942 team finished No. 16 in the final Associated Press poll. Meagher was named SEC Coach of the Year in 1935. He passed away in 1968 at the age of 74.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
