Jerry Gwin coached the Mississippi A&M football program (a.k.a. Mississippi State) for one season in 1902, leading the team to a 1-4-1 record. His lone win as a college coach came against Howard University, and his team also tied Tulane that season by the unique final score of 11-11. Gwin played his college football at Auburn during the turn of the century.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
