Alabama tight ends coach Joe Pannunzio has served two coaching stints at Alabama. The first came 2011-2014 as Nick Saban’s Director of Football Operations, and he returned in 2017 after two years in the NFL.
Pannunzio has a long history of coaching football. He got his start at TCU in 1990 before coaching at both Ole Miss and Auburn in 90s. Following his stint at Auburn, Pannunzio was hired to become the head coach at Murray State.
Pannunzio went just 30-37 during his six-year career at Murray State, including 2-9 in his final season. He landed at Miami as an assistant after coaching at Murray State.
After serving as Alabama’s Director of Football Operations, he left for the Philadelphia Eagles to become the team’s Director of Player Personnel from 2015-2016, only to return to Alabama in 2017, serving as the team’s tight ends coach and special teams coordinator.
