Kenith Pope has made two SEC stops, coaching linebackers at Mississippi State (1991-94) and serving as Alabama’a assistant head coach under Dennis Franchione (2001-02).
Pope followed Franchione to Texas A&M in the middle of NCAA sanctions levied against Alabama and held the same position with the Aggies from 2003-07.
Other stops during his career include SMU, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, TCU, UNLV and Iowa State. Pope has held a variety of jobs, coaching running backs, wide receivers, defensive linemen and linebackers.
An itinerant journalist, Christopher has moved between states 11 times in seven years. Formally an injury-prone Division I 800-meter specialist, he now wanders the Rockies in search of high peaks.
