A running backs coach for most of his career, Larry Porter leveraged a job at LSU (2005-09) to become head coach at Memphis (2010-11).
Rivals.com twice named Porter its National Recruiter of the Year while he coached for the Louisiana State Tigers. He also helped develop Jacob Hester, Charles Scott and Joseph Addai.
Porter went just 3-21 in two seasons with the Memphis Tigers. He also has served as running backs coach for Tennessee-Martin, Arkansas State, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Texas and North Carolina.
An itinerant journalist, Christopher has moved between states 11 times in seven years. Formally an injury-prone Division I 800-meter specialist, he now wanders the Rockies in search of high peaks.
