Mark Tommerdahl has spent most of his coaching career as a special teams coordinator, including a stop in the SEC under Alabama’s Dennis Franchione teams in 2001-02.
Tommerdahl followed Franchione to Texas A&M in 2003 and spent four seasons in the same position with the Aggies, part of the exodus from the Crimson Tide that infuriated Alabama fans, as Franchione took over a program in the middle of NCAA penalties and then left despite public promises.
Tommerdahl’s other career stops include California, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, TCU, New Mexico, Minnesota and Wyoming, where he started his career as a graduate assistant in 1984-85.
