Smith spent nine seasons total as an assistant coach in the SEC during two different stints with Kentucky and one season with Alabama.
He spent the 1986 season coaching the defensive backs for the Crimson Tide. Following his time in Tuscaloosa, Smith spent 1990-96 with Kentucky as defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. He returned to Lexington for the 2001 season as defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator.
After living in Birmingham, Ala., Jordan left the ground zero of SEC Nation to head south to Florida to tell the unique stories of the renowned tradition of SEC football. In his free time, his mission is to find the best locales around.
