Robbie Caldwell

Caldwell was Bobby Johnson’s offensive line coach for eight of Johnson’s nine years at Vanderbilt. When Johnson retired a month and a half before the 2010 season, Caldwell was named the interim head coach. He made a huge splash at SEC Media Days, playing up the I’m-just-happy-to-be-here card. In that he wasn’t known by members of the media, he gave his back story which included his first job. “My first job was on the turkey farm,” Caldwell said from the podium. “I don’t know if I can tell you what my job was, but I was on the insemination crew. That was a good job. We got paid by the hour.” Prior to Vanderbilt, Caldwell was the OL coach at North Carolina, N.C. State and Furman.
