Felker, who played for the Bulldogs in the 1970s and then was head coach from 1986-1990, returned to Starkville in 2004. Prior to current head coach Dan Mullen’s arrival, Felker coached the running backs.
Now, Mullen has charged Felker with a new role as the Director of Player Personnel and High School Relations. It is Felker’s second stint in an off-field role, having previously served as Director of Football Operations for Jackie Sherrill and Sylvester Croom.
Prior to being named the Bulldogs’ head coach, he was an assistant at Alabama from 1983-1985. Following his time as head coach, he spent time at Tulsa as offensive coordinator, then Arkansas and returned to Tulsa before rejoining the Mississippi State staff.
After living in Birmingham, Ala., Jordan left the ground zero of SEC Nation to head south to Florida to tell the unique stories of the renowned tradition of SEC football. In his free time, his mission is to find the best locales around.
