Worked on R.C. Slocum’s staff for nine years from 1994 to 2002 as tight ends coach and special teams coach. Prior to that, he served as head coach at famed Permian High School of Odessa, Texas with a record of 43–4–2 record in four seasons. He had previously been an assistant coach at Permian, including the 1988 season covered in the book Friday Night Lights: A Town, a Team, and a Dream by H. G. Bissinger.
Worked in online, print, TV and radio. Bobby Valentine once wore a pair of my socks for 8 hours. In an awkward exchange, he handed them back to me to which they were immediately deposited in a trash can.
