Ted Cain

Cain spent nine of his ten years as Bobby Johnson’s offensive coordinator. Some of the best Vanderbilt offenses in school history were played under Cain, especially the 2005-2006 offense led by quarterback Jay Cutler. Vanderbilt offense stagnated after Cutler’s departure. The 2009 season was Vandy’s worst offensive output under Cain’s direction. Johnson demoted him to tight ends coach and special teams coordinator for the 2010 season. Cain came to Nashville from Furman after an awful two-year head coaching stint at VMI where he finished 1-21.
