W. A. Murray served as the head coach of the Texas A&M Aggies for three seasons from 1899-1901, finishing with a record of 7-8-1 in that time. His record as a coach trended negatively in all three of his seasons, dropping from 4-2 in 1899 to 2-2-1 in 1900 to 1-4 in 1901 before he was let go as head coach.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
