Wade Walker was a college football coach for 12 seasons from 1950-1961, including eight seasons in the SEC at Mississippi State from 1954-61. He worked as MSU’s line coach in 1954 and 1955, then took over as head coach prior to the 1956 season. In six seasons as head coach Walker posted a combined record of 22-32-2. He experienced his best season in 1957 when he led the Bulldogs to a 6-2-1 record and the No. 14 ranking in the final Associated Press poll that year. He also served as the athletic director at Mississippi State from 1959-1966. Walker passed away in 2013 at the age of 90.
