William G. Kline coached college football, basketball and baseball at the University of Florida from 1920-1922, posting three straight winning seasons as coach of the Gators’ football team. He left Florida with a 19-8-2 record as its football coach, and his best season came in 1922 when he led the Gators to a 7-2 record and a 2-0 record in the Southern Conference. Kline retired from coaching with 58 career wins.
A former newspaper reporter who has roamed the southeastern United States for years covering football and eating way too many barbecue ribs, if there is such a thing.
