Joe Lunardi has Auburn as No. 1 overall, even if the AP Poll voters don’t.

In Lunardi’s updated bracketology projections for ESPN, he has the Tigers as the No. 1 overall seed for the 2022 NCAA Tournament. He also includes 7 SEC squads in the field of 68.

Then, there are those just missing out. In addition to Mississippi State and Florida being among the last 4 teams in, Lunardi has Texas A&M as the first team out, and Arkansas is right behind among the first 4 out:

  • Auburn — No. 1 seed (Midwest)
  • Kentucky — No. 3 seed (South)
  • LSU — No. 4 seed (West)
  • Tennessee — No. 5 seed (South)
  • Alabama — No. 6 seed (West)
  • Mississippi State — No. 11 seed (South)
  • Florida — No. 12 seed (East)
  • Texas A&M — First Four Out
  • Arkansas — First Four Out

There’s still plenty of work left to be done before Selection Sunday, but for now, it seems a handful of SEC squads are going to be experiencing life on the bubble.
