After demolishing Georgia to begin SEC play over the weekend, Tennessee remained the lone SEC representative in the top 10 of the newest Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday.

The Volunteers held steady at No. 3, trailing Duke and Michigan atop the rankings. No. 11 Auburn moved up one spot and No. 14 Mississippi State three, while No. 18 Kentucky fell five places following a two-point loss against Alabama, which garnered seven votes outside the Top 25.

Florida (1) was the only other SEC team to receive a vote.

There was some speculation that Tennessee could jump to the top spot in the poll following its 96-50 victory last Saturday. The Vols have perhaps the best win in the nation — a three-point, neutral-site victory against then-No. 1 Gonzaga (now No. 5) in December — but one-loss Duke and undefeated Michigan maintained their slight edge in the rankings.

But Tennessee managed to pull in 13 first-place votes, four more than Michigan. Duke still enjoyed a huge margin of first-place votes with 37, while No. 4 Virginia earned five.
