The Big Ten has identified several schools that could be part of future expansion with Notre Dame, Miami and Florida State among the potential fits.

According to a story from Action Network, league commissioner Kevin Warren is looking at the aforementioned schools along with Pac-12 schools Oregon, Washington, Stanford and Cal.

Miami and Florida State are currently in the ACC. Notre Dame is an independent in football and in the ACC for other sports.

According to a report from CBS Sports, Notre Dame is looking for at least $75 million in annual media rights from NBC when the current contract expires in 2025

Warren reiterated his opening statements from Big Ten Media Days by saying the conference will only consider expansion if it’s the right situation and the right fit.

“We will not expand just to expand,” Warren said. “It will be strategic. It will add additional value to our conference, and it will provide a platform to even have our student-athletes be put on a larger platform so they can build their careers but also that they have an opportunity to grow and learn from an education and from an athletic standpoint.”

The Big Ten will be expanding in 2024 when USC and UCLA are expected to join.
