COVID-19 has left another team unable to participate in its bowl game.

The EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl was scheduled to be played on Friday evening as Hawai’i was to take on Memphis. However, due in part to COVID issues within the Rainbow Warriors’ program, they will be unable to play.

“We are disappointed for our players, coaches, and fans,” Hawai’i athletic director David Matlin said in a statement. “ESPN and the EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl staff did everything they could for us and we appreciate their valiant effort throughout the week. We want to thank the Memphis Tigers for making the long trip to Hawai’i. We are disappointed we can’t compete on the football field.”

On Wednesday, Texas A&M was forced to withdraw from Dec. 31’s Gator Bowl against Wake Forest due to a COVID outbreak within the Aggies program. The Demon Deacons will instead play Rutgers in Jacksonville, Fla. on New Year’s Eve at 11 a.m. ET.
