FBS team hires new head coach, per reports

There are several current FBS head coaching vacancies as we enter the final week of the regular season.

But, it appears one of the non-Power 5 jobs has been filled, per reports on Sunday night.

As you can see below, it is being reported that UMass is hiring Arizona DC Don Brown to replace Walt Bell, who was fired earlier this month:

Brown has plenty of experience at UMass. He’s a Massachusetts native and spent the 1998-99 seasons as the DC for the Minutemen. He was also the UMass head coach from 2004-08, going 43-19 in that time.

That was when UMass was an FCS program. Can Brown bring the program back to respectability, this time in the FBS ranks?
