Paul Finebaum is sick and tired of the Notre Dame hype.

During his Monday appearance on ESPN program “First Take,” the SEC Network host was asked to share his thoughts on the Fighting Irish leading up to the team’s Monday night game against Louisville. The way Finebaum sees it, any Notre Dame hype that exists should have already been extinguished after what Clemson did to Brian Kelly’s team last postseason.

If that 30-3 beating wasn’t enough, Finebaum says he believes Notre Dame is in for a rude awakening in three weeks when the team travels down to Athens.

“It’s not about tonight, tonight’s a good chance for a win but Notre Dame goes to Georgia in a couple weeks, they won’t win there. They deal with Michigan in Ann Arbor, in a few weeks after that, and they won’t win there either,” Finebaum said during his appearance on the show. “I think they’re a really good team. I think could be 10-2 but they are not going back to the Playoff and, frankly, they should never be allowed back to the playoffs. After their embarrassing loss to Clemson, they should be given a five-year probation.”

If we are being honest, five years may not be enough for some.
