There should not be many changes to the new AP Top 25.

Due to scheduled bye weeks, postponements and cancelations, 12 teams – almost half of the AP Top 25 – were off on Saturday. Voters will probably have one team drop out and another enter the poll.

SMU was the only ranked team to lose. The No. 19 Mustangs fell to Tulsa 28-24 Saturday. Tulsa was unranked but already high in the “others receiving votes” pool. Look for the Golden Hurricane to get into the Top 25 with SMU, suffering its second loss, dropping out.

Here’s how we project the new AP Top 25:

  1. Alabama (6-0), did not play
  2. Notre Dame (8-0) def. Boston College, 45-31
  3. Ohio State (3-0), did not play
