Whenever there’s an opening in college football, Urban Meyer’s name inevitably gets brought up, no matter how unrealistic his hire may be at that school.

While many have wondered which college job, if any, Meyer will eventually take, it looks like the former Ohio State and Florida head coach may not land any college job.

That’s because Meyer could be headed to the NFL. According to Bruce Feldman of The Atheltic, the Cleveland Browns “have strong interest” in Meyer. The Browns fired head coach Freddie Kitchens after only one season leading the club immediately after the conclusion of the latest NFL season.

Meyer has no previous experience in the NFL but that hasn’t stopped him from being a potential candidate for the Dallas Cowboys opening, if and when it does come open.

If Cleveland is attempting to drum up interest in its franchise, Meyer also makes a ton of sense as the coach is one of the most popular figures in Ohio following his successful run with Ohio State.
