When you think of the greatest college football teams ever, you think of squads like 2008 Florida, 2001 Miami and 1995 Nebraska (among others).

Could the 2019 Clemson Tigers join that mix? FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd thinks they could.

During a show this week, Cowherd said he thinks the Tigers have the potential to be the best college football team ever:

“I think we’re looking at potentially the greatest college football team we’ve seen,” he said. “In the games in which Trevor Lawrence started and finished last year, none were close. Twenty (points) was the closest. And he was a freshman. Now he’s a sophomore. … He is the best college quarterback I’ve seen since Andrew Luck. Basically, Clemson has Alabama’s talent with the best college quarterback I’ve seen in my life.”

Cowherd conveniently ignores the fact that Clemson lost all four starting defensive linemen to the NFL Draft this offseason. We’ll see how that affects the Tiger defense.
