Southern Miss football coach Will Hall is about as Southern as it comes, complete with an accent to match.

And when it comes to his good ol’ boy persona, the Amory, Mississippi, native wouldn’t have it any other way, as he discussed in an engaging and self-deprecating interview with Rivals.com reporter Trevor Ritchie.

“I am what I am and I’m proud of what I am,” said Hall with his unmistakeable southern drawl. “Here’s what I know. I wake up every day and nobody has a worse day because they ran into me. The Good Lord wanted to me talk this, he made me short, I’m a little fat. It is what it is.”

Hall added that at the end of the day what he wants to be judged on is how he treats others.

“What I can control is my interactions with people on a daily basis,” he said. “Hopefully when I die, nobody ever says, ‘Man, I ran into Will Hall today and my day was worse because of it.'”
