Get your popcorn ready ?. Oh wait, that was Kiffin, make it 2 bags and a beer. This is going to be fun.
This is what happens when 2 assistant coaches get caught doing the deed with 2 recruiting staffers. Just wait for the info/lawsuits to come out in the future.
@dvhill100. Any time you put a complete new staff together someone is not going to mesh. Unfortunately it happened to be the OC very early on. He was asked to call these plays and didn’t do it time and time again. Theory, OC sabotaged season, wanted to get fired due to a special clause in contract that pays him full amount. He’s a happy retired individual now. I do believe Auburn is headed in the right direction, should get to 8 wins this year and 10/11 in 2025
@TideFan@RonM……. There was a lot to rebuild from top to bottom in AU football program. Freeze and company have done a pretty good job of navigating the issues not only player chemistry but coaching chemistry albeit the OC and freeze are taking a bit longer to get on the same page. Kudos to winning 6 games and bowl eligibility. With a top 15 recruiting class this year Auburn could easily get to 8 wins next year. Year 3(2025) with a 10 win season Auburn will make the 12 team playoff
Auburn lost all 3 phases. Offense never got in sync. OL, QB, RBs and especially the WRs. 10 points after last week, unacceptable. Special teams wasn’t even good at punting, giving up a fake punt, unacceptable. Now onto the defense, one of the true bright spots for Auburn laid the biggest egg Saturday. Gave up more points to NMSU than Georgia’s high powered offense, unacceptable. I do believe the entire staff will have the players engaged and ready to play Saturday although the best outcome would be for auburn to pull the upset. In reality just keep it close in a loss and execute better in all 3 phases if not this will be over very quickly.
Look @ Ron sticking his nose in on this article. Go read the one where Freezes stock is down for an underachieving first year. Side note: there’s trouble brewing between OC and HC. Somebody is gonna get it and it won’t be freeze. Now back to this story Ga - 45 Tenn - 21
We definitely live in a different world today. On one hand I feel for the kid after going thru several injuries and then losing his grandmother after the holidays but just like a baby, you got to come off the tit at some point. I’m not a fan of Kiffin but his response is MILD compared to what Bear Bryant would have told him 50 years ago.
Wouldn’t that be like credit 2 nattys to Saban/Bama for Georgia/Kirby recent success.
LSU wins by 11, 21-10. Ole Miss is about to implode. I might even go so far as next year would be Kiffins last. Lost their OL coach to Auburn and went from 2nd in rushing in league to 10th so far this year. 2 other coaches left also, they saw the writing on the wall. LSU/Bama will battle for sec west honors. Flip a coin on that one. Bonus: I’m not saying it will happen but IF Auburn figures it out and puts a complete game together, they will upset someone this year. My guess is not Ga but Bama
Amongst true college blue bloods of college football WE ALL know things come in cycles, Miami, FSU, OSU, USC are just a few. The question is when will Ga cycle off. My guess is 3 to 5 years with 2 more nattys. Then it will be someone else’s turn to dominate. Remember it will happen.
@B2BD Wish I could give you more concrete info but I can’t. Golding had one year left on contract at Bama and kiffin offered him a 3 year contract at same money. Goldings own comment I have to do what’s best for my family. Saban was not giving him anymore years basically you will be out at end of contract. That’s all I can comment on that. Schumann is just too young for Saban to babysit again. Let’s see where Schumann is 5 years from now
@Doug. I will admit there was a conversation/offer to Schumann but it was on Sabans explicit terms. He let Golding hang himself then showed him the door. Schumann didn’t like the terms, basically who ran the defense, and he certainly wasn’t the first choice(Pruitt) and Grantham interviewed but didn’t get an offer. Steele will only coach 2 maybe 3 years then retire opening the door for Pruitt to serve his show cause year as an analyst then possibly DC after 2 years but more like 3. REC
Schumann or Lake would be the obvious 1A,1B choice. Pruitt may come on board as an analyst and nothing more until he has a resolution from NCAA. Grantham is probably going to move on. Peru85 you are correct that UT was a dumpster fire before Pruitt/Fulmer, UT gave Fulmer ???to fade away and save his name. Most of the AD knew what was going on. Then they cleaned house. Now they are on the right track but have got to find a way to beat Ga.
And I do believe there is more than inbreeding going on @ the BARN. If you know what I mean.
Was just a handful of students but just shows how immature and classless some people are. Pray for the family and 5 yr old boy that lost his mother
I think the fan base would want Pruitt but a show cause is coming. Schumann would be the most likely choice and he would be coming home. Don’t rule out a promotion from within also, small chance but possible. Another huge question in the next 7-10 days will be who replaces BOB.
Legaltiger you are correct. They offered him more money and extend by 1 year. OMRebs you have no clue. Once Lane found out he was leaving he did offer more money and got turned down, then Kiffin started his bratty attitude. There are 3 other coaches fed up and will be leaving. It’s a shame when the head coach has to beg fans to fill up 70k seat stadium. Don’t get me wrong Ole Miss can be good but never ELITE
Let me say this. You’re a liar. Quit spreading garbage. One of the up and coming coaches that not only recruited at high level but also as run game coordinator had ole Miss rushing in top 5 the 2 seasons he was there. Know your info. When your name is on the short list of recommendations then you’re doing something right. I would be more worried about Auburn being toxic(yellawood) might be the reason #1 choice turned down the job.
Hey brokeback vol. Kiffin has 2 demands that has to be met for him to jump. 1- Largest guaranteed contract. 2- Yellawood keeps his hands off the football program.
He knows football and the system but after a broke foot his freshman year and then the accident where he got t-boned and broke his pelvis, wrist or arm and a partially collapsed lung, it’s been in his head and then got too far down the depth chart. Super great young man and hope nothing but the best for wherever and whatever he does.
Every University has that one or two boosters that don’t mind putting up money for hiring/firing/contract extension for coaches and I’m not saying UT doesn’t have the money but they are still paying on some buyouts and may be willing to give a small bump to OC but certainly not double it. After all they started a GoFundMe account to raise 75k for goal posts. Personally I see Golesh taking the smaller pay bump than joining the dumpster fire in College Station.
I will say that Deon’s ego is too big and would clash with the 2 boosters that were behind the failed coup of Harsin. Auburns next HC will not be who they really want(Kiffin) NOT happening. Not saying Auburn is a dumpster fire but they have 2 black eyes and the replacement will know what he’s dealing with. Look for a OC/DC, looking to make a name for himself, to be the next HC. Briles just might be on that list. I will put one HC name on the short list, Dave Aranda from Baylor, he has 2 middle fingers, one each for the 2 boosters if the stick their nose in his business ? Disclosure: I don’t know anything but somebody knows something
