I'm not sure I trust the info on Kansas transfer Ar’maj Reed-Adams winning a starting spot on the O-Line. This is the only site that has mentioned him all spring and only in this article, at that.
No offense to SC, but I'd always wanted UF as our cross-division rival under the old system, anyway. No hatred, I just wanted the game and another reason to travel there every couple of years. Plus, The Mad Hatter was complaining about playing them every year, so I was hoping we'd take them off his hands!
To the non-Aggies or younger fans, Connor was a walk-on, cult hero back-up during his time at A&M and is well-loved, so this actually is significant news. Wish him the best!
Gotta agree with you on this one! Matter of fact, I'd put REM as '1A' because their multi-decade career was almost as big a deal to Gen Xers as Petty's was!
I stand corrected. He had his RS year in 2021. Also, he failed to pick up a 3rd & 1 against SC and hasn't played or practiced since!
Hopefully, he changes his mind. According to practice reports, he was an awesome player but just too light to be an LB in college football. He just needed a year to gain some mass.
I'll bet this one hurts later. I thought Johnson was going to be a real contributor with a RS year of S&C.
responsibilities were shuffled in Fall Camp and Coley was the real coordinator.
Wrong move. I think Addazio, D. Craig, and James Coley were the problem. The line was porous, and the receivers often ran the wrong routes and couldn't bring the ball in when they didn't. As far as Coley goes, all the complaints we had about Fisher's offense for the last 2 years are the same ones Coley was getting at previous stops as an OC.
Funny thing: When Jimbo says this, he gets roasted. I'm not defending Jimbo's playcalling, just the fact that he says the same thing and gets jumped on for it.
I don't mean to get down on the team, especially individual players, but I don't see how anyone can put any TAMU O-line member on an All-SEC list with the way they have played so far.
Nothing to see here! It was just our season imploding, no real danger! All joking aside, I'm glad it was just a hoax but these things usually are, even though you have to err on the side of caution and treat them like they're not.
I don't like the play call but I'm not amazingly pi$5ed, either. I think Jimbo tries a little too hard to outthink or psyche out his opponent. Granted, the run game hadn't been going great, but I think a lot of that was the sacks. I would have gone heavy and rammed it down their throats because, as The Bear said, if you can't gain 2 yards, you don't deserve to win.
Only one of the 3 happened and it still came down to the last play.
I don't get the low chances against Miami, Auburn, and LSU, but not Florida given the issues all 3 teams face this year.
I could see us 9-3 but I'm betting more on Alabama, Miss St., then Arkansas, going in order of likelihood.
I am honestly not trying to insult your team, but there's a reason they went 6-6 last year. Maybe some of those reasons have been worked out or left the team, maybe not. Let's say they did, but then you have the adjustments from a whole new coaching regime and such.
Hell, that was probably just the remains of the joint, if that.
"Drunk" or not, he was drinking, out late, had a gun in the car (yes, legally), and hanging out with "people of questionable character." A series of bad decisions for which I'd make him run stairs and/or suspend him for a game or two.
That's probably the reason he's leaving! "Man, I knew it got hot in TX but ain't nobody told me nothing about it hittin' 90 in March and climbing from there!"
I'm torn on this. With a BAC below the legal limit, the DWI charge was BS but the other charges? "It was his friend's joint and he didn't know!" Yeah, right. Stupid! He may get the charges dropped (and maybe he should), but He should be held out of a game or two, lose his captain status, and run some serious stairs. My guess is he'll at least be running the stairs.
I hate to say it, but throw him out. No one on this team is above the law for something like this.
Anais Smith - TAMU. He's played RB, WR, returned kicks & punts, and they've said he could play as a DB if they stuck him there.
Arkansas is not a manufactured rivalry for anyone who grew up in the SWC before 1992.
Agreed. We don't have the pipeline full at every position. OL and QB showed that last year while WR has been underachieving for a few years.
Agreed. A&M at #4 with a transfer and a true freshman? I don't care how good Max Johnson was before, he hasn't played in Jimbo's system and could be a talented bad fit. Likewise with Stewart; we've had a few talented WRs not do squat lately.
Agreed. I don't mean to badmouth my Ags but like last year, I think we're being ranked just off recruiting and 2020. We lost a lot on offense last year and now we've lost a lot on defense. We may surprise people and earn it but right now #5 is way too high.
Agreed. I've been questioning this and the o-line for the last couple of years. We've been recruiting the talent but it seems like the 3-stars overachieve and everyone else fizzles, at least until maybe their senior years. I'm not going to outright accuse D. Craig of being the problem, but it does seem to point to coaching and how many fantastic receivers came from LSU while he was there? And I mean ones who had amazing college careers, not ones who had so-so careers and then started tearing up the field when they went pro.
