Granted, we give second chances. However, this isn't the first time that a Saban starter has gotten an "indefinite suspension" during the Spring. For example, Brandon Ivory last season. My point is this, when Michael Dyar, who had a chance to be the best back in the SEC, got kicked off the Auburn team in 2011, he went to JUCO and wanted to return to Auburn but ended up at Louisville instead. Once you are dismissed from a program, I don't understand the same program being so quick to welcome you back. The other 3 that got suspended with Pettway weren't afforded the same opportunity. Does this mean that he was the only one of the four that learned from his mistake? Or does it mean that he was a better player and was allowed to come back for that reason?
I suspect this is the same situation as we have seen in the past from Saban. Starters get an "indefinite suspension" in the Spring and make it back by fall (as is the case with Geno). Taylor, on the other hand, is not a starter. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go the way of D.J. Pettway and play JUCO ball for a year and be welcomed back when he improves....I mean "learns from his mistakes". We have seen this game far too many times from Saban.
As an Auburn fan, I am hoping Bama wins Saturday and then Ole Miss wins the Egg Bowl. If those things happen, Auburn is going to Atlanta barring another loss.
It honestly doesn't matter and people who are upset about this week's rankings are ignorant. If Bama beats MSU, they're in the top 4. If not, they would've dropped out after Saturday anyway. The rankings make for good water cooler conversations, but honestly mean nothing right now.
I was at the game. They did review it and still upheald the penalty. Looked clean to everyone in the stadium as well, including the LSU cheering section (which I was right across the aisle from)
