Congrats to Michigan, they won the title and that can't be taken away despite what the NCAA or whoever might say. The title will be tarnished to some people and it won't to others. Both opinions are valid so long as they feel the same about the 2017 Astros.
There are 6 SEC v Big 10 games, 7 if you count future members Texas and Washington. I try not to be an overt SEC homer most of the time, but I wouldn't mind the Big 10 getting knock down a peg.
1:48 ain't a bad 800m time. Its a shame Track & Field and XC doesn't get much love. Although it's definitely not as fun to watch as football.
I have the feeling more and more players will enter the portal to bait out more NIL money and rejoin their team. I don't mean this as an indictment, I just think it's an easy and low risk method for players to get more money and they know it.
To be clear, I acknowledge that rivalry games still matter and will be exciting.
I strongly disagree, and believe it will water down the regular season. Back when we had the BCS, basically every game was a playoff game. If you lost, you were almost guaranteed to be left out. Now with 12 teams in, if Auburn beats Bama big whoop Bama is still getting in unless it's their 4th loss. Yes the Iron bowl will still matter, but kicking bama out (or atleast the opportunity to) gives the game more weight. As more teams go to the playoffs, the regular season losses weight. Also, there will be 6ish teams that literally go every year.
Oops. Thanks for the correction. I was intending "wary", but that's a better description anyway.
I'm weary of Freeze at best. I'm curious about your opinion on Brian Kelly and some of the things he has done?
There is a good chance this search is a failure. Although, if Auburn does have a successful search, it would probably look the same depending on the coach they want. Auburn is too interesting of a job for media not to pedal click bait.
I'm hoping that most of the current searching info is just bull being pushed for clicks with little to no merit. If I recall correctly, LSU's hire last year was similar. A lot of talk, then a hire out of nowhere.
It's only mildly infuriating that people who argued for playoff expansion claimed it was the only way to get new teams in. Playoff expansion is finalized, then the "new teams" argument is immediately proven false.
Definitely a little embarrassed about how some of the AU fans handled the Kiffin affair. Although funnily enough, I think both fan bases come out of it wanting Kiffin less (although going 2-4 in the second half of the season might have done that too.)
While I "hate" both your team and theirs, it's nice to see good will comments like this.
Definitely proud of how Auburn played given the situation. There was definitely one horrible call in favor of bama, but the better team won and not because of the refs. Good game.
Horrible call, but it's more likely to change who covers rather than who wins.
I mean, if you want to use the literal definition of the word Dynasty; then no one has a dynasty because teams win championships. They don't have rulership of the sport.
I haven't been keeping up with Florida State much. You had a strong opinion on it, so I was curious about your take is all.
If Anthony Richardson is laughable, who would you suggest is the most dynamic player in the Florida - Florida State game?
Honest question to Tennessee fans. Would you trade a 16 year wait and a emotional win for a shorter wait and a less meaningful win?
If Missouri wins Auburn will struggle to get 3 wins.
Student tickets for basketball are free, you just need to get there two - four hours early to get a seat.
To play devil's advocate, had Auburn not botched the Mississippi State game and Bo went uninjured, they probably would have won the west. From there Auburn would probably have beaten South Carolina and Alabama (and been flatten by UGA again in the title game.) That being said 20 is way too generous.
They said if all four teams cancel due to c o v i d or the two semi champions cancel due to c o v i d, there just wouldn’t be a national champion with year
In their defense... Florida: Favored by 14 won by 2. A&M: Favored by 19 lost by 3. Tennessee: Favored by 26, was only ahead 7 in the fourth quarter (but won by 28). LSU: Favored by 29, won by 4. Arkansas: Favored 21, won by 7. Auburn: Favored by 21, won by 2. Alabama has "under performed" in several games. That being said Alabama whips UGA like Auburn whips Alabama...( at JHS... sometimes...)
Maybe not in other years, but who should pass them up this year? A Notre Dame who's best game was a loss to Cincy? Two loss Baylor or Ohio State? I can't see away Georgia doesn't get in...
Auburn's OCs 2018: Chip Lindsey 2019: Kenny Dillingham (but really Gus) 2020: Chad Morris 2021: Mike Bobo 2022: ??? I know I'm asking for a lot as an Auburn fan, but please give us some consistency.
Our defense was gassed and TJ was limping towards the end of the game. Auburn just didn't have the juice left that Alabama had. Hats off to Bama for pulling out the win, but I wouldn't call it a collapse by Auburn.
I think he'll get a Heisman, just not this year. No offense to Alabama, but I don't think next week will be a good day for Young. Honestly, I'd prefer Bama to win over UGA, but I don't think it will happen.
