Removing Bear and Saban, Bama still had a more recent NC than Georgia. Idiot comment by an idiot fan
This^…. Danny Kannell and all of the FSU apologists conveniently leave this fact out to say, this wasn’t the Florida state team of 2023. UGA showed up to compete. They didn’t let circumstances dictate their commitment and effort. FSU did. That tells you all you need to know about their program.
Why does it seem like some of these SDS writers are now omitting obvious facts in a lot of articles and are just trolling SEC fans? This article essentially blames everyone except Florida State for getting boat races by UGA. 15 of 22 starters that only put up 16 pts against Louisville would have made up for 60 points against UGA? Not a chance. Florida State had a great season, hats off to the players that stuck it out knowing what was coming against UGA. And put the narrative that “oh the FSU players that opted out were sticking it to the CFP to rest”. The culture of FSU was exposed for all to see yesterday. Quit when things don’t go your way and for some reason, people are now defending that mindset. But that’s the world we live in today.
Don’t know about, Doug. But Beck is a heckuva QB and has all the tools to be the #1 pick in the draft when he goes out. Progress from start of the year to the end was evident for Beck and no doubt he’ll come back even sharper next year.
Hard to argue with Milroe’s consistency but over the last 8 weeks of the season there wasn’t a more clutch player in the country than Milroe. That gives me the confidence that when a big play needs to be made against Michigan, he’ll find a way to do it
Explain the money then. What is the financial kickbacks each party is receiving? And specific numbers and dollar amounts, not a contract that starts next year. Because the TV market in Alabama is much smaller than the Florida market. So take a minute and explain the facts you’ve got about why everyone on the committee wanted to keep FSU specifically out of the playoff and what specific dollar amounts each party in this “conspiracy” is getting kicked back?
Anyone who watched the struggle fest that was the ACC championship game knows this was the right decision. Understand FSU fans being frustrated but if you watched FSU struggle with Louisville for 3 quarters, the reality is clear. And before the “yeah but elite defense” crowd jumps in - the difference between FSU and Bama’s defense is 8 ypg. It sucks for FSU, but no serious person thinks the wrong decision was made and no serious person thinks there’s some grand conspiracy with ESPN and the SEC. This whole thing is the “outrage is now a sport” culture showing itself in college football. Whine, complain, point fingers and claim conspiracy when things don’t go your way.
Anyone worth their salt will always tell you the reason, “this is how we’ve always done it” is a flag to turn and run the other way.
Leg missing the entire point of Herbie saying “if FSU beat Louisville 59-0” is too good. And that going over his head before … b1tching and complaining. Lol
Also worth noting, the CFP is an LLC meaning OH MY, it is a business. And the 4 best teams = best ratings. My goodness. Not shocked to hear an AU fan hate on capitalism though.
LSUMC, that’s because admitting FSU minus Travis isn’t one of the four best teams. Beating the consensus #1 team and controlling the entire game after the first drive doesn’t matter. Two TD’s against Texas being called back doesn’t matter bc he wants to say “trounced”. The flawed logic there being evident. Complain about lack of penalties being called on Alabama and say it’s some grand conspiracy - but ignore the fact that Bama was 2 penalties from actually winning the TX game despite playing horribly on both sides of the ball.
Hail, why don’t you tell everyone about Dr Anderson. Almost 40 years that UM kept him on board with $490M paid to over 1k individuals. No moral high ground for the cheaters, shockingly.
+1 Dawglb. Don’t know if you’re being sarcastic but this at least qualifies mlc to be DC at Auburn, USC, Colorado, and LSU.
Good points Leg. I don’t think anyone, myself included, saw Steele and Reese doing as well as they have this year. But leave it to Saban to make what a lot of people considered as 2 underwhelming hires and dramatically improve on both sides of the ball. Almost like he knows what he’s doing lol
Ehh, I don’t disagree with the due process. But part of the due process you’re referring to is the law, not a voluntary body colleges join the participate in athletics. That’s part of why the due process for certain crimes entail jailing someone until they’re proven guilty. So they can’t be put in a position to commit further crimes until a verdict is decided.
Yes, any conference promotes its best team. There’s no conspiracy to favor Alabama. There’s no conspiracy to favor Georgia. Good teams win. And it seems like all the refs are terrible and miss impactful calls every game. Seeing the SEC refs call games since I was 8, I don’t think that’s the group that has the competency to orchestrate and participate in a conspiracy of any kind.
Well it depends on how you’d define guilty? If you’re defining guilty as Harbaugh knowing, maybe they aren’t guilty. If we’re defining guilty as being proven that Stallions bought tickets, had people attend games for him, video other teams signs, etc. that’s different. Even if Harbaugh didn’t know it was happening, it’s really hard to imagine that information didn’t benefit UM or tilt its competitive advantage.
Hail, educate us on how Bama, a school from a smaller state with a smaller population leads to more money and ratings than FSU
Common sense and no lies here. FSU’s “elite” defense is roughly 8 yards better than Bama in total defense for the year. The difference being one had the 5th hardest strength of schedule and one had the 55th. One team played a schedule whose opponents have a combined record of 98-61 and one team played a schedule whose opponents have a combined record of 67-69. Guess which team is which.
No disrespect but why would you get to define dynasty? Name the number of years since 2009 Bama hasn’t been in the mix for a NC in Nov. No recruiting class under Saban has graduated without a NC. That’s a dynasty. And UGA is at the beginning stages of their own equally impressive dynasty.
Sounds pretty leftist of Gwhite to want the government involved in everything possible. “We’re from the govt and we’re here to help” lol
FSU would have been a 14 pt dog to any other team in the playoffs. 4 best, not 4 most deserving. Hate it for FSU and I’d be upset if I was an FSU fan. But the criteria is the criteria and they made the decision. FSU has a chance to prove their argument against UGA. But once that game is done, I have a feeling FSU won’t be saying much.
The irony being the entire country is actually rooting against UM, from you know, all the cheating business. Michigan knows what’s coming. Same thing that’s come for the Big10 every year since Zeke left for the NFL
lol Norvell ain’t gonna be at FSU in 2 years and if he is, hey maybe that’s the quality win they’ll need to get them in playoff. For now, that offensive masterclass against a team that got beat by the worst team in the SEC East will have to do.
2thevictors, you put up 66 rushing yards on Iowa. And completed 16 or less passes in 6 games. If this Bama team is mediocre then UM is mediocre as well. Smells like someone knows the end is near and a thrashing is coming Jan 1
Also, I don’t get the ratings argument. Population of Florida is much larger than Alabama and both would be in the southeastern tv market. But shine the tin foil and wear it proudly
Tell me about when FSU beat the #1 team in country
A 3rd string QB that won the conference championship 59-0. Far cry from the middle school offense that took the field in Charlotte last night.
