Missouri just cannot have nice things. Bazelak looked really good, and can hopefully be a helpful piece for this team in the future. Shawn Robinson now has a big role to fill. No one cares about my opinion, nor should they, but I hope Sterk does not hire a triple-option coach.
MU running backs and O-line, while not known much nationally, are two major strengths of the team. The defense is starting to get better, and with a serviceable QB this team should compete for 9+ wins in the regular season.
The ARkansas rivalry is contrived. USC and UF are more contentious. MU hasn't beaten UK or UGA in several years. And the Tenn is always interesting. There's no cross-division rivalry that makes more sense, so it is what it is.
Sour grapes. Man, terrible, the lack of respect people are showing this kid. As a MIZZOU fan I didn't expect him to come, but I'm excited that he chose MU. If he would've chosen any other school, I'd wish him well. MU has the highest upside for next year with all of the possible programs he was choosing from.
For what it's worth, USC & UF are the rivals of MIZZOU in the SEC. AR is not. Good fun that someone from UF wants more MIZZOU... hasn't been working for them the past couple of years... especially with the 'quiet' crowds.
I hate to blame Lock, but he's never been good against good competition. He's never won a big game. Yeah, it's a team effort, and yeah the defense has been atrocious since Odom became head coach. But the run game is on point. The O-line is stout. In Lock's defense his receivers drop more balls than a little league baseball team. I think Dooley has done a nice job. He calls a better, more unpredictable game than Heupel did. But execution is the missing variable here. And that's on coaching. You don't teach 'em until they get it right, you teach 'em until they can't get it wrong. Saban, Kirby, Dano...they get great execution (and things of
Yes, and unfortunately. I live in Athens and love MIZZOU. But my boss mentioned in passing the next real game UGA has is LSU. MU is an after-thought. Until Tigers fans have a cult mentality, and swarm the stadium for a spring game, this team won't control its borders and recruit like UGA. In the south CFB is religion. But anything can happen on the field. The line from Oddsshark is fun, but not a realistic metric when most other books have MIZZOU losing by at least 2 TDs. Go Tigers, but I feel we'll be boat-raced by at least 20.
Still bullish on UF I see. Missouri and South Carolina should both beat them, and Vandy might. 5-7/6-6 maybe. Vandy will finish higher than or tied with UF.
Auburn is still the #4 team IMO, losing to a really good team in the last second. MSU is #5, aTm is #6. Everything else I agree.
Auburn is good, that's why they rolled up Arkansas. If the MIZZOU defense plays like it did the last 3 games, they won't win another one. 4-5 wins feels like the ceiling, but there's a small chance. Crockett is the shining star on this team. The injuries are bad, but the two-deep is really bad. I'm hoping for some improvements with Odum's assistance on defense. It's a lost year, and the Tigers need some help with recruiting to avoid being in the basement of the East for years to come.
Good picks. I think LSU/MSU will be the opposite score, and UGA/MIZZ will be closer, but otherwise solid selections. Both of the games I've mentioned are wild cards. We'll see how they all play out on a Saturday Down South.
Lock is better. There is no run game, Witter can't create, and Ross was 3rd string at OU. How is he the saving grace. The defense will take a small step back. The offense was markedly improved, but still can't close. But marked improvement from second worst in nation to middle-of-the-pack is still a stretch. If MU closes drives, and plays decent D, they'll win 6-7 games. If they don't grow in the next couple of weeks, it will be a long season. With decent execution I think the Tigers could have had a chance to win Saturday. The screens to the perimeter do not work. They need to stop. The D-line did not do much. The O-line was serviceable. The receivers need to improve. Special teams can only get better. The DBs and linebackers weren't bad. The running backs were the weakest link. The QB showed good growth, but was not on the same page with receivers about 50% of the time.
Keep winning and there'll be several night games in November.
As a MIZZOU fan with LSU connections, this is friendly banter worth seeing. Should be a helluva game. May the best team win. This could well be the best game of the day. We'll learn a lot about the West after Saturday.
Be careful what you wish for little man. Swapping Richt for the unproven alternative is a risky prospect. Great recruiting, decent X's and O's. Yeah, they've under-achieved with their talent, but 9+ wins a year with a decent bowl game ain't bad living. Now go challenge for a title this year and all ills will be forgotten. BTW I'm no Dawg fan.
My vote: 1) LSU, 2) UGA, 3) MIZZ, 4) AU, 5) aTm, 6) Tenn, 7) UF, 8) UK, 9) Razorbacks, 10) Vandy, 11) Ole Miss, 12) USC, 13) 'bama, 14) Miss St.
