Greed is ruining college football. Head coaches used to take three or four years to install their system and types of players to fit within the system. Now head coaches only stick around for three or four years at most, then move on chasing bigger salaries. As a college football fan, it's become ever more difficult to maintain interest.
Still, the Vols will be looking for another head coach in three years. The program has been in rebuilding mode for 15 seasons and will continue to do so in perpetuity. No quality head coach in his right mind will take the position.
Year 15 of the Vols' rebuilding process should go swimmingly. Next year is gonna be our year.... again.
Four and eight is going to taste particularly bad for the Vol faithful this season.

Long time Vol fan, Knoxville resident, and UT graduate here. McElroy is exactly right... as much as I hate to admit it. The Vols will be historically bad this year and clueless Vol fans will be screaming for Heupel to be fired by mid-October.
Book it.
Being called smart by Jim Rome is an especially unique form of a kiss of death. Heupel will be gone in three or four years and someone needs to get Jim Everett to punch Rome in the face again.
