I'm sorry mike g but that's not accurate nor fair to the University. CMR was hired as a devote Christian, worked for UGA for 15 yrs as a devote Christian and his firing had nothing to do with his faith. CMR got the axe just like any of us would....diminishing returns basically. CMR stagnated for some years and the head of the Athletic Department wanted to go in another direction. Lets be honest.....most coaches only enjoy such a long tenure at one school only if they won a National Championship or two. UGA was good to him and vice versa.....it was a business decision.
