I will never understand how fans don't want to give a coach time to build something. It typically takes a minimum of 3 years for a new coach to really see an impact on the recruiting and at the end of the day... effort can only account for so much before raw ability becomes a major factor in what a team is capable of doing. Then add in the constant coaching buyouts and the strain the puts on athletic departments. As much as I would love to see SC stay in the gutter that we resided in for decades, it annoys the hell out of me when a base has such unrealistic expectations as to expect a coach to fix everything year 1 when the previous coaches struggled for years. South Carolina's issues go all the way back to latter part of Spurrier's career and if they're not careful with this coaching carousel, they are going to find themselves in a similar mess as the Vols with the overall state of their team and what Auburn is seeing in regards to their recruiting right now. Give the guy time
You mention we don't make mistakes, but this has been an incredibly sloppy Kentucky team so far this year. We rank worst in the nation in turnover margin and fumbles have been a major issue. We technically have the most productive RB and WR in the SEC right now, but that doesn't matter when you fumble the ball into the end zone or throw a pick on the goal line. I want to believe this game will be close, but I just can't after the sloppy play that I've seen our guys have. I think we have a lot of upside and the issues can be resolved by the end of the season, I just think there were too many issues to fix in one week.
Most fan bases have that troll or obnoxious fan because most of the other programs have seen success. Ours is recent and we still lose in embarassing fashion. Kentucky football is always a weird experience. We're more accustomed to winning, but it's usually in an ugly way and we don't always feel great about the win because we have come to expect more. Whereas it's a sign we are improving as a program, it's also hard be arrogant when we squeak by most games.
Lol, I missed Uncle Lou's call for this game. What did he predict? I guess is he probably said South Carolina was "Do dooooooo!" or something silly like that
Wow... I haven't seen BlackAndGarnet beating their chest. I wonder why that is
Nah, I think Mizzou fans got them beat. BlackAndGarnet just isn't that bright or is hitting the sauce way too early
Eh, I honestly think this is going to be a really good game. I do expect that Kentucky will come out ahead, but you all will most likely keep it close. Then we can fall into the same old conversation about how when Kentucky barely beats someone it's because they're bad and Kentucky's just a better bad team, not that the team was potentially underrated or overperforming. Then just like we have the past few years we'll get sent to a bowl where we get matched against higher rated competition and when we win it will be another excuse about how the competition was overrated. Gotta love it
BlackAndGarnet is not only delusional, but clearly they didn't make it past middleschool. Dang, that's some awful grammar...
We may end up being irrelevant, but we'll still be more relevant than cocks and we'll still beat you all consistently. Gamecock fans have no business talking about irrelevancy to anyone. You all haven't been relevant in anything in over a decade. Congrats on being ranked like what... 96th best law school?
My only real concern is if Texas thinks they can come in and diva it up. I don't want to pay for some sort of Longhorn network with my SEC network just because they're in conference. They need to drop down a peg or two and realize that where as they are going to probably be somewhat competitive, they will likely be barely average in our conferance. We're kind of an abrasive conference towards each other, but at the same time we have each other's backs when push comes to shove. I don't want to be seeing penalties being thrown because some Texas player or coach gets butthurt every game over the horns down
That's the thing. A&M didn't turn them away, and I think a lot of our fans should be open minded to this too. My only real concern is how the realignment will work. I don't see anyone in AL switching to the east, despite making the most geographical sense. I also don't see LSU making the switch. Maybe we see someone from MS come over? I feel like both Ole Miss and MSU would be decent fits for the east, but who knows? God knows that I definitely don't want to listen to more of those cowbells than I have to. We already listen to that obnoxiousness every year since they are our western rival, but to hear it in more of the divisional games would make my ears bleed.
That dependable kicker comment certainly hit home. By the way, as someone who was at the game, I just want to say how incredibly cordial and friendly the Bulldog fans were. Your fans showed a lot of class and it was a pleasure to watch the game next to quite a few of them
Paris, you must be that same douche I call out on the kentucky.com. Is your name Tom Atkinson by any chance? You seem to have such a striking resemblance to the way he types with his "Our Version of Stoops" rants. If so (or even if you aren't) just give up your tickets and move on. We don't need garbage like you in our fanbase
