Very good piece Murf! I'm cautiously optimistic about these 2015 Dawgs. We all know everything revolves around the QB and replacing a 5th year senior can be a little scary, particularly with one who's no stranger to throwing INTs. However, I am optimistic about Thompson's potential. He's a physical freak (super strong) with a high motor and a desire to succeed. If he does what the coaches ask him to do, sky is the limit for this kid. He's the best DL I've seen since David Pollack.
War Tiger fans to be complaining a lot lately. An AU fan sent an open letter to the SEC after the War Plainsmen got pummeled in Athens and now this bit of whining.
chance1080p - I think you've bumped your head!!! You NEVER kick a squib or pooch kick when only leading by 3 points! It's the right call if you're up by 4, but not 3. In this case Marshall Morgan has the leg to kick it out of the end zone. You put Tech on the 25 with 18 seconds left and make them drive the field. At best they get two plays. Instead Tech got the ball at their 43, a 19 yard advantage. That proved to be the difference!
Defense a B-: Wow that's an incredibly HIGH grade for a unit who couldn't tackle or play assignment football. Stopping the Wishbone is all about assignment football and punishing the QB on every single running play. Neither one of those things happened and Herrera had one of the worst games of his career yesterday - an absolute NO SHOW. At best this group deserves a D grade!
You need something the way Georgia rolled the War Tigers. News out of Auburn is that Malzahn is still trying to figure out how to tackle the Chubbanator.
I see A&M as the best fit for Muschamp. He'd do a fine job and make the Aggies a serious contender in the West.
I also agree. If one looks across the college landscape there are a lot of traditionally strong programs that are suffering right now. As a Georgia fan I was hoping Foley would give Muschamp a contract extension, but there's hope, he can always offer Ron Zook his old job back and maybe have Charlie Weis lead the offense!
Auburn Fan - As a Georgia alum this open letter about your experiences in Athens is embarrassing to say the least. I've been to many games over 30+ and seen some drunk UGA fans get after opposing fans, but never spitting or getting abusive toward opposing female fans. I've also been to other SEC stadiums and watched as our fans were abused, so it goes both ways. One year Auburn decided to turn the hoses on Georgia fans after a UGA victory in Jordan-Hare stadium. I suspect a lot of the behavior you experienced was the result of alcohol and it being a night game. Nevertheless, there's no excuse for that type of behavior towards opposing fans.
